When is Wedding Season at Bailey’s?

High Season runs from mid May through October. If you’re planning an off-season wedding, be sure to think about the weather. Bailey’s on Palomar is at 5500’ elevation. Palomar weather can be unpredictable at that time of year. So please check weather averages to make sure you’re comfortable with it.

What time can start our wedding and what time should we plan to end?
One of the nice features of a destination wedding at Bailey’s is the ability to set your own pace. Check in time on Friday can be flexible and we’ll be happy to work with your group to determine your optimal time. Having said that, we do have neighbors and local ordinances that dictate music-off and bar-closing times. Last-Call is 9:45 p.m. and all bar service and music must close by 10 p.m.
How many guests can you accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 250 guests for the Day of and over 125 sleepover guests.
What should we expect at Bailey’s?
A Relaxed & Welcoming Environment. Our destination wedding package encompasses a full three-day weekend, Friday through Sunday, giving you and your guests time to settle in. Breathe deep and relax. At Bailey’s, there’s no rush.
Can I use my own caterer?

Bailey’s was founded by freethinking pioneers. We believe in that pioneer spirit and allow our guests the freedom to plan their wedding their way. Caterers, rentals, decorations, whatever you choose it’s up to you. We can help with some of the rentals if you’d like. We also have some fun activity vendors we can arrange – horseback riding, archery, tomahawk throwing, square dancing, massages etc. FYI – we charge all outside vendors a 15%  vendor fee.

Do I need a professional bartender?
Yes. If you’re planning to serve alcoholic beverages, we require a licensed, insured professional bartender.

Are there any restrictions?
No open flames outside of fire rings. Candles must be battery operated. No smoking inside any of the indoor facilities.
Do I need to arrange insurance?
Yes. Event insurance protects you, your wedding party and the Bailey’s. Bailey’s must be listed as additional insured with a copy of your certificated provided. Event insurance can be easily purchased online. Users, and all vendors and/or subcontractors are each required to obtain general liability insurance coverage with an AM Best A rated carrier approved by Bailey’s. Insurance coverage will be in the amount of no less than $1,000,000.00 per occurrence and a $2,000,000.00 general aggregate, for the day of the event (including set-up and clean-up), and will submit to Bailey’s, with their final payment, an original policy or Certificate of Coverage issued by a licensed agent or representative of the insurer, identifying Bailey’s on Palomar, et al., as additional insured. If you search for event insurance you will find several options.
Are there other accommodations available in the area?
Yes – We have compiled a list of other rentals on and around Palomar. With some advance planning, groups of 150+ can usually find local accommodations here on the mountain. We do advise that you make those reservations as soon as possible.
What accommodations are available at Bailey's?

Luxury yurts, upscale safari tents, rustic and modern cabins. All of our lodgings come with ensuite bathrooms. 

How do we arrange for a tour of Bailey’s?

Tours are by appointment only. To book a tour, feel free to contact us by phone or email. We are always happy to meet with prospective wedding couples and their families here on Palomar. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the fresh mountain air!

Do you have package prices?

Pricing is largely dependent on the size of your group, your expectations, whether you want a mid-week or weekend date, and whether it will be high or off season. What about after the wedding, is there a honeymoon suite on the property?

Yes! Cedar Cabin serves as a secluded Bride and Groom Romantic Getaway. It features an ensuite hot tub, new king bed, rich furnishings, and fully redone and resized bathroom. Click to view the Cedar Cabin page.

Can I bring my animal to Bailey’s?
Yes! We are Pet Friendly facility. However, no animals are permitted in Carriage House, Dance Hall or Bailey House.
Is there wheelchair access?
Sorry, there is no handicapped access at Baileys.
Are there places for the bride and groom to get ready for the ceremony?
The Bailey House has special rooms for the Bride and Groom and their entourages to gather and get ready. The Bailey House is rented separately.
What is your Cancellation / Refund Policy?
We do not offer deposit refunds.
What is there to do on the mountain, entertaining guests, etc.?

Explore our 160 acres of breathtaking forest on hiking trails that wind through the property. Stargaze on a clear summer night. Sit around the campfire and enjoy the evening with friends. We can also arrange horseback riding, archery, tomahawk throwing, square dancing, massages and spa services.

More, not-to-be-missed experiences on the mountain are Palomar State Park and Caltech’s Palomar Observatory. And of course.. Wedding Preparations! Involving family and friends in setting up and decorating your chosen wedding sites is an experience that brings everyone together in the shared joy of creating your unique wedding environment.
